Local chapters are the backbone of Common Horizon. They are essential to building the people and political power we need to tackle the climate crisis and win a People’s Agenda. Chapters run multi-year campaigns to organize our workplaces and neighbourhoods behind the climate solutions our communities deserve. Don’t see a chapter in your community? Sign up to start one here!

Why become a member
There are two primary sources of power in this world: organized money and organized people.
We exist to build the latter.
For this reason, we are a membership-based organization. A Common Horizon member is someone who has agreed to abide by our principles, pays dues, and has received an orientation to Common Horizon either online or through a local chapter. We encourage all our members to actively organize with a Common Horizon local chapter or movement-wide team, but we understand that one’s ability to participate can fluctuate over time.
We know we can win, but we need you with us.
Why we charge dues
In order to win the world that working people deserve, we believe our movements must be accountable to everyday people, not wealthy donors and philanthropists. Embracing a dues-paying structure forces us to stay focused on our core mission: building a people-powered mass movement organization.
But don’t worry, we know money is tight these days. If you can’t afford to pay dues, there’s still a place for you in Common Horizon.
